Members of the Spencer Historical Society accepted a donation of $2200 from Advantage Bank on February 15th to complete the fundraising to replace rotting window frames and surrounding walls in the Spencer Museum on NE 50th.  Advantage Bank President Randy Smith (second from left) presented a check to Society Treasurer Bob Zaring (far left) and other members present, including: Edna Turman, Pat Aubert, Mary Hammon, Erlene Jones, Tony Wangler, Betty Earnest and Linda Wangler (left to right). More than 70 individual donors raised over $9200 in less than 5 weeks.

 

Advantage Bank sponsored the Star Spencer High School “Bobcat Breakout” Step Show April 23rd, and had this display in the entryway.

 

Mary Hammon shows off some of the goodies at the Spencer Historical Society’s Baked Goods/Plant Sale April 30 at the Spencer Museum.

 

The SSHS Bobcat Boosters sponsored the Athletic Awards Banquet May 12 at Star Spencer, and Advantage Bank furnished all the signs for the group. Public Relations Representative Cindy Van Kley received a bouquet of roses for being the “Superbooster” of the year.

 

At the Athletic Awards program, Star Spencer Lady Bobcats’ Sharane Campbell praised Coach Janith Johnson’s constant encouragement and support for helping her succeed in earning a “full ride” basketball scholarship to OU.  [Sharane Campbell has become a standout on the OU Sooners Women's Basketball Team!]

Students presented a basketball signed by the whole team to retiring Coach Janith Johnson May 12.

Dr. Mary Coughlin, Spencer Elementary School Principal, congratulates Steven Blackwell on winning one of two bicycles donated by Advantage Bank and WalMart for the “BUG Awards” (Bringing Up Grades), a program of the Midwest City Kiwanis to encourage student achievement.

Alayna Boykin was the winner of a girls' bike provided by Advantage Bank and WalMart, when her name was drawn from among 12 girls in the 3rd grade who had earned most improved grades.

3rd grader Steven Blackwell proudly displays the certificate he earned as one of 11 Third Grade boys with most improved grades this year. Both Steven and Alayna were students of Mrs. Howell at Spencer Elementary School.
