Tony Roberts to Assist EOC Small Businesses
Lending a hand to small businesses takes a special understanding, vision and infectious enthusiasm, all qualities which Advantage Bank’s directors found in recently named Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer Anthony L. “Tony” Roberts.
An extensive background in banking and finance going back 23 years has added mature experience to a foundational comprehensive education in his chosen field, giving Roberts an edge when it comes to helping business owners put together financing for projects big and small. Roberts knew he’d found his niche when, after earning a Bachelor of Economics degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University he started working as a teller at Lincoln Bank in his hometown of Ardmore. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University, going on to become a loan officer at American National Bank in Ardmore. He also graduated from Oklahoma Bankers Association’s Commercial Lending School, and most recently was a district supervisor for a state-wide finance company in Tulsa.
“In the recent turbulent economic times, small businesses had been a little leery of expansion and upgrading, but after several years of sitting back to see what happens, some are finding it’s time to make some long-needed technology upgrades, equipment updates and facilities improvements, and I’m proud to say that Advantage Bank has the strong capital base needed to offer lending support to those businesses,” says Roberts.
Roberts has joined Advantage Bank as it is celebrating its 100th year in Eastern Oklahoma County banking. He was a member of the Ardmore Kiwanis club and is currently a Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and is involved with their Total Resource Development Campaign. He has a passion for service which he adds to the long history of community support at Advantage Bank. Roberts will serve the needs of businesses all over Oklahoma County from his office at the Spencer branch of Advantage Bank at 8001 NE 23 Street.
